STIPs and transaction declines
Resolved - On Saturday, September 26, 2026. Marqeta detected an issue affecting stand-in transaction processing (STIPs) and transaction declines with impact start time at approximately 5:31 PM PT. We immediately engaged our upstream infrastructure provider, who identified the root cause and applied a fix, restoring full connectivity by approximately 6:00 PM PT that same evening. Marqeta engineers continued monitoring systems closely throughout the weekend to confirm stability, and we observed normal transaction processing with no recurrence of the issue. This incident is now resolved. We appreciate your patience throughout this incident.

STIPs on Mastercard
Resolved - On Thursday, September 24, 2026, at approximately 13:07 PT (20:07 UTC) Marqeta identified an issue affecting card transactions processed through Mastercard, in which a number of transactions across several Mastercard programs were declined or handled through the network's stand-in processing. Transaction volumes and processing patterns have returned to normal baseline levels, and we conducted a monitoring period to confirm long term stability. Mastercard has acknowledged the anomaly on their network and is continuing to investigate the underlying root cause; Marqeta will incorporate any further findings once Mastercard's analysis is complete. We appreciate your patience throughout this incident.

Visa Duplicate Clearing Files
Resolved - Marqeta engineers, in coordination with Visa, have completed remediation of the duplicate clearing transaction issue affecting September 18th transactions. All impacted transaction exceptions have been processed, with the final set of transactions confirmed posted at approximately 02:20 PT this morning. Settlement reconciliation has been completed for all affected programs. Following a monitoring period to confirm the stability of the resolution, we can confirm this issue is now fully resolved and no further customer action is required. We appreciate your patience throughout this process.

Intermittent Service disruptions affecting Visa "Click to Pay" API endpoints.
Resolved - Following an extended monitoring period, our engineering team has confirmed continued long-term stability of the Visa "Click to Pay" service with no further abnormalities detected since the last observed disruption at 2:46 PM PT on September 15, 2026. The investigation lead an issue on Visa's side in load-handling limitation causing overloading. We will continue to work with Visa on a full root cause analysis and will share further findings as they become available. We thank our customers for their patience throughout this incident.
