Security and data use¶
This page describes how the app uses connected Slack and Jira accounts. For account-specific security questions, contact support@jirareminders.com. See the privacy policy for the service’s privacy terms.
Slack permissions¶
Permissions	Used for
commands	Slack shortcuts.
chat:write, chat:write.public	Reports and reminders in channels and DMs. Private channels require an invitation.
users:read, users:read.email	Member information, time zones, and Jira-to-Slack people matching.
channels:read, groups:read	Destination choices in Workspace, including private channels the app can see.
im:history	Direct-message interactions with Jira Reminders.
links:read, links:write	Jira link previews.
Jira access¶
The app reads Jira projects, issues, people, sprint information, and release information needed for the selected feature. Results depend on the Jira connection used. Connect your own Jira account for personal “My work” results.
A report or issue card posted to a shared Slack channel is visible to its channel members. Consider the audience when choosing a destination.
Stored information¶
The app stores account and connection information, schedule settings, custom JQL and AI instructions, cached Jira and Slack directory names, account IDs and visible email addresses, people matches, follow-up issue keys and notes, report metric snapshots used for comparisons, and operational events. Delivered messages are also held by Slack under the workspace’s settings.
Optional processing¶
AI summaries and insights: relevant Jira text or report data and your instructions are sent to OpenAI. Turn these options off to use issue lists and reports without AI summaries.
Slack chart images: chart data, including numbers, dates, and chart labels such as sprint names, is sent to QuickChart. Turn chart images off under Home → Settings & help. Browser report charts are rendered by the app.
Link previews: use a connected Jira site and can be set to Rich, Compact, or Off.
Shared settings and ownership¶
You can edit schedules owned by your signed-in Slack account. People matches and link-preview settings apply across the workspace. Review people matches before enabling assignee DMs or @mentions.
For data-deletion requests or questions about hosting, retention, backups, or security reviews, email support@jirareminders.com.
