Platform Privacy Policy MetaMap, Inc. (together with its affiliates, “MetaMap” or “we”) helps you manage your personal data and use it to access services and businesses worldwide—including banks, payment processors, gig platforms, cryptocurrency exchanges, telecommunications companies, and employers that use our services as part of their hiring process. Privacy and data protection are fundamental to our business, and safeguarding your personal data is a priority. This Privacy Policy explains how MetaMap collects, processes, and shares your personal data when you use our services to manage your information and verify your identity or credentials with a business. It also outlines the rights you may exercise regarding your data. Please note that when we provide identity verification services to certain Clients, we act as a data processor. This Privacy Policy does not apply to personal data processed in that conte Personal Data We Collect and Why When you use our services, we may collect the following categories of personal data: Contact information: such as your name, address, email, and phone number Government ID and other documents: such as passports, driver’s licenses, utility bills, etc. Biometric data: such as a selfie or video for identity verification Credentials: for connecting external accounts Financial data: such as bank account details you choose to share Device data: including your device type, browser, IP address, geolocation, and cookie information We may derive biometric data, such as facial prints, from your selfie or video and compare it with the image from your identity document to verify your identity. Special Note for Illinois Residents If you are an Illinois resident and we collect biometric data from you, we retain it only until the earlier of: (i) the purpose for which it was collected has been fulfilled, or (ii) three years after your last interaction with MetaMap Services, unless otherwise required by law or contract. Additional Purposes With your consent or as permitted by law, we may also use your data to: Comply with legal obligations or help our Clients do so Detect, prevent, or investigate fraud or harm Provide customer support or respond to inquiries Improve our products and develop new features Generate reports and analytics When and Why We Share Your Personal Data We only share your data with third parties you explicitly authorize. For example, if you use our service to qualify for a bank product, we share your data with that bank. We also share information with service providers that support our platform (e.g., hosting providers), under contractual safeguards. We may also disclose your data: To prevent fraud, threats, or policy violations To support marketing and advertising efforts To comply with legal requirements or government requests In connection with mergers, acquisitions, or restructuring Cross-Border Data Transfers Because we serve clients globally, your data may be transferred across state or national borders, including to the United States. (“Mati Argentina”), a locally incorporated entity controlled by MetaMap. Mati Argentina is the data controller when you use our services locally, and it shares your data with MetaMap under legally approved Model Transfer Clauses (Resolution 198/2023). By accepting this policy, you expressly consent to the processing of your personal data by both Mati Argentina and MetaMap.
