Continuous training is provided to tutors through the onboarding process as well as live webinars. Vetting process We employ a vetting process to create a network of quality tutors. We verify that all tutors who use our platform are academically competent and their claims for certification. Goals & expectations Our tutors are always ready to discuss goals with students and parents, create a short-term or long-term study plan and set expectations. They embody TutorOcean’s flexible, personalized approach to private tutoring. Adequate training Our Customer Success team is dedicated to providing tutors with continuous support. The team checks in on tutors after their sessions to make sure that everything went smoothly and that tutors have the tools they need in order to communicate with students efficiently and effectively. Transparent pricing For all students that Tutors find on TutorOcean, the Tutors are paid in full on what they quote less a small fee that is deducted from the tutor’s rate to maintain the infrastructure of TutorOcean’s platform, students and parents pay what they see. Depending on certain cases or certain specific situations, some conditions apply. Ratings & reviews The quality and depth of a tutor’s experience are reflected in the reviews given by students and parents. Our Customer Success team strives to verify reviews in order to ensure the quality of tutoring sessions and the validity of the transaction. Safety Online sessions are recorded upon agreement between the student/parent and tutor and are available for download for all parties involved. This holds everyone accountable and is helpful when it comes to revision and preparing for the next session. TutorOcean may review any sessions where a report has been made by any person using the platform for the purpose of investigating abuse. Secure payments At TutorOcean, we use the best-in-class secure payment platform Stripe which employs strong credit card fraud-prevention mechanisms to safely conduct online payment transactions. Stripe underwent the most rigorous level of security audit and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. With the best-in-class security tools and practices, Stripe maintains a high level of security. Video Encryption All data in the TutorOcean online classroom is encrypted end to end by default between the user and TutorOcean for video sessions on a web browser. TutorOcean adheres to Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) security standards for Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS) and Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP). Learn more about DTLS here.
