This document will explain how "Connected Apps" and "Bots" work in the zzBots App. First, we want to emphasize that you are in full control. When you add a "Connected App" to zzBots, you are authorizing the zzBots App to read and update information in that Connected App, but this connection is only used for the purposes you configure in the zzBots App. When you install or create Bots to automate workflows, your Bots can use these Connected Apps to read and update information to save you time (for example to sync data between two Connected Apps). We encrypt all security tokens and authorization information to ensure this connection remains safe and secure. For example, to sync data between Google Calendar and Asana, the zzBots App must have your permission to read and write in both Google Calendar and Asana. So you would add Google Calendar and Asana as Connected Apps. The Bots you create (or install from the Bot Store) will determine what information is read and updated between these apps. What data is stored in the zzBots App? We do our best to store as little information as possible and still allow your Bots to work correctly. For example, if you have a Bot that is monitoring a Google Drive folder and emailing you notifications when a new file exists, it is necessary for your Bot to "remember" the date/time of the last file that was added to the folder, to determine when a new file was added. The amount of data that is stored is different depending on the capabilities of the API provided by the app we are integrating with. If you send a message to a zzBots Support representative requesting help with configuring your Bots, the Support Representatives can access your zzBots workspace to view or update your Bots at your request with the sole purpose to assist you in solving any issues to ensure your Bots are working properly.
