"California LPR data" means LPR data from a license plate read in California. C.2 Authorized purposes. We use license plate recognition, and collect, access, and use California LPR data, only for the following purposes: (a) to determine whether a parked vehicle has a valid, paid, or authorized parking session and, if it does not, to issue, deliver, and administer a parking invoice, including identifying the vehicle's registered owner to send the parking invoice; (b) to confirm that a vehicle is associated with a valid subscription (including through Cloud Permits®), validation, or other authorization to park; (c) to let a parker who uses the CameraPay® camera option enter their license plate number; (d) to answer a parker's question and resolve a dispute or refund request; (e) to operate and secure our parking facilities, including investigating an incident, responding to a claim involving a vehicle, and detecting and preventing fraud; and (f) to respond to legal process or where the law otherwise requires. We share California LPR data only: (a) with our license plate recognition provider, Rekor Recognition Systems, Inc. Some of our compliance applications, and the CameraPay® camera option, send an image of the license plate to Rekor, which reads the plate number and returns it to us. Our agreement with Rekor permits Rekor to use this data to train and improve its recognition technology and to facilitate sharing it with governmental or quasi-governmental agencies, and to use data from which the license plate characters have been removed for statistical analysis and to share it with governmental or quasi-governmental agencies or commercial entities.; (b) with the client that owns or manages the facility where the data was collected, for the purposes in Section C.2; (c) with a state motor vehicle agency or authorized vendor to identify a vehicle's registered owner, and with a collection agency for an unpaid parking invoice, only for that purpose; (d) with other service providers that provide, host, or support our license plate recognition technology and systems, so that they can provide those services to us; (e) with a law enforcement agency or other government authority when required by a subpoena, warrant, court order, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person; and (f) with a successor in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
