Security and encryption When it comes to the internet many businesses have concerns about 'the cloud' and privacy. With help from Amazon Web Services, you’re using one of the most secure ways to digitally share files. We are secured for take-off and landing! Files are what make your business tick, so we protect them like they’re our own. Digital Pigeon utilises bank grade security and encryption to protect your files and, with added measures like password protection and random-generated URL’s, you company is in safe hands. We employ end-to-end security which means your files are safe from the moment you press ‘upload’ to the moment the file is opened by your recipients. There are two key components to securing your file transfers: Firstly, there’s what we do on the Digital Pigeon platform to make sure your content is encrypted and protected. Secondly, there’s the security of the cloud infrastructure we use - Amazon Web Services. This is our global delivery network, and the way we are able to get your files from A to B. Built on ISO 27001 principles ISO-27001 is the leading international standard developed to handle information security. Its aim is to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information held within our organisation. We are constantly working to maintain the highest information security standards, and are proud to be aligned with ISO/IEC 27001 controls. Digital Pigeon is not currently ISO/IEC 27001 certified, though the platform previously operated under an ISO/IEC 27001–certified program, and the same controls and processes remain in place. Encrypting your file We use SSL encryption, which is what’s used for online banking. Not only are files encrypted during the upload, download and transfer stages, but they’re also perpetually secure in storage. Finally, your recipients will receive a randomly generated, unique link which gives them access to your files. Protection options Every file has the option to add a password and request a human verification step. This adds additional layers of protection to your files. Your data and content are stored on our platform in compliance with our privacy policy. There are several options you have to control each of these elements. In flight security Digital Pigeon’s software is hosted on Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) cloud infrastructure. We rely on their servers to deliver your files. NASA, Adobe and Netflix are just a few of the other AWS customers you may have heard of. It’s their business to keep data secure and they’ve employed industry leading measures to ensure just that. They comply with global standards for just about everything to do with privacy and security management best practice. Amazon has a range of certification and insurance programs, and are continuously audited by independent accreditation bodies. Basically, they do everything they can to make sure that whatever can go wrong, won’t go wrong. Your files are protected both in the digital sense and the physical sense. Even with cloud platforms there are still physical data centres. These data centres are in multiple locations around the world. They’re housed in the most secure buildings, with video surveillance and state of the art security systems. Breaking into one of those data centres would be like an operation from Mission Impossible.
