Privacy Policy for Migrata App
At Migrata, your privacy is of utmost importance to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we
collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal and organizational data while you interact with
the Migrata application ("App"), which facilitates data migration between Salesforce
organizations.
By using Migrata, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.
1. Who We Are
Migrata is a software solution designed to migrate data between Salesforce organizations. It
follows a client-server architecture, with a frontend built using Lightning Web Components
(LWC) and Apex, and a backend powered by Node.js and Express.js, hosted on Heroku.
Migrata is maintained by Selegic Inc, referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our” in this policy.
2. What Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of data:
a. User-Provided Information:
●
Name, email address, and Salesforce org details during authentication.
●
Object selections, field mappings, and data migration configurations made within the UI.
b. Technical Information:
●
IP address, browser type, and operating system.
●
Salesforce org metadata (e.g., objects, fields, field types).
●
Runtime logs and error messages generated during migration.
c. Data Handled in Migration:
●
Business data and metadata (including records, objects, field values) temporarily
accessed and processed for migration from one Salesforce organization to another.
Note: Migrata does not permanently store or access your Salesforce data records
unless explicitly configured by the user. Mapping configurations are stored as JSON
files in a secure MongoDB database to enable repeatable and consistent
migrations.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
●
To authenticate and authorize access to Salesforce orgs.
●
To facilitate metadata extraction, field comparison, and mapping.
●
To execute and log the data migration process.
●
To provide customer support and enhance application performance.
●
To comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Data Storage & Retention
●
Mapping Information is stored securely in a MongoDB database.
●
Runtime Logs may be temporarily stored on Heroku and cleared periodically.
●
User credentials for Salesforce are never stored; OAuth tokens are used securely for
session-based access.
We retain minimal data necessary to provide and improve the services and delete it when no
longer required.
5. Disclosure of Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or organizational data.
We may share your information with:
●
Trusted Service Providers (e.g., Heroku, Salesforce) necessary for App functionality.
●
Legal Authorities, if required to comply with applicable laws or regulations.
●
Internal Team Members involved in application development, support, and
maintenance.
6. Third-Party Services
Migrata integrates with third-party platforms including but not limited to:
●
Salesforce: Used for data access and migration through RESTful APIs.
●
Heroku: Hosts the server-side logic of the application.
●
MongoDB: Stores mapping configuration securely.
Each third-party provider has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing their policies for
further information.
7. Security Measures
We employ industry-standard security practices to protect your data:
●
OAuth-based authentication for Salesforce access
●
Secure data transmission over HTTPS
●
Access control for sensitive data in MongoDB
●
Logging and alerting of anomalies on Heroku
However, no system can be 100% secure. Users are responsible for safeguarding their
credentials and authorized access.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You may:
●
Revoke Salesforce authorization at any time.
●
Request deletion of stored mapping or migration configurations.
●
Contact us for access to or correction of any personal information.
To make such requests, please email us at amy@selegic.com.
9. Children’s Privacy
Migrata is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect
personal data from children.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be reflected with a revised
“Effective Date” at the top of this page. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of any
changes.
